About the Artist, Margie McGinley

"The outside of the horse is good for the inside of the man."

I have been chasing this muse ever since Dad threw me up on the broad back of a plow horse. My ongoing desire is to find ways to express my love for horses, nature, and spirit, and to touch a depth of feeling that depicts this sentiment and celebrates the beauty.

Shape, color and movement capture my imagination and I enjoy exploring this in various media using a variety of techniques in styles ranging from realism to contemporary.

My education includes an AA degree with a fine art emphasis. During my studies I received the top award at the year end show, and an honorable mention at a four state college show. After a lapse of several years rearing my children, I am again pursuing creative expression and have exhibited with the Arts Olympia Group, Art's Walk, the Mini Show, the Heritage Arts Festival, Equine 2000 Emerald Downs, and the Monarch Contemporary Art Show.

Good news! My artwork has found its way into a book! Check out the Book Collaborative's latest edition "Horse Sayings."
